What are your holiday gift-giving traditions?

When I got married almost 10 years ago, I started a new gift-giving tradition with my parents. Each year for Christmas, I write a story from a memory I have of growing up. I also purchase an ornament to go with the story. So each year my parents get both an ornament and a story.

The first year I started this tradition, I gave them an 8.5 x 11 inch scrapbook as well so that it could hold all the stories I would send in the future. Now they have the start of a book of great family memories!

Each year, they read aloud the story to everyone present and hang the ornament. I love this tradition as it helps me to reflect on things I am thankful for and happy memories from my childhood!
